I was born on 27th June 1955 the first son/child of  John Elvet and Gwyneth Williams in St James Hospital Tredegar.

 

My father John was one of eight children and was from  Rhymney.  His siblings were  Martha, Peter, Idris, Ieronwen, Celia, Bryn and Edith May.

 

My Mother Gwyneth was one of two children and was from Tir-phil.  Her sibling was Megan.

 

I was followed by two siblings Brian in 1960 and Gwyn in 1964.

 

I fell in love with my wife Glenys in the early seventies and we soon started our family Michelle, Coral, John and Ann.

 

We were then blessed from 2001 with the arrival of grandchildren - Courtney, Abbie, Mason, Dylan and Katie.

 

I have had many passions throughout my life but the largest two being Rugby and Rhymney Silurian Choir.  I have enjoyed many happy times with both of these.

 

I qualified and worked as a Carpenter and learnt many trades along the way, turning my hand to anything to help and learn, another passion of mine over the last few years has been tracing my family tree and finding out about my history and passing this down to our children and grandchildren.

 

My hobbies included Rugby, Choir, Fishing, Photography.
